Barista training, straight from the mtaa to the bar. Kenya Coffee School brings hands-on, professional coffee craft to Meru — where the beans are grown, we teach the brew.
Kenya Coffee School's Batista Mtaani Meru program trains everyday Kenyans — youth, hustlers, aspiring cafe owners — to become skilled baristas, right here in Meru, one of the country's most celebrated AA coffee-growing regions.
Meru's red volcanic soil grows some of Kenya's finest AA coffee. We built this school so the people closest to the crop can also master the craft behind the counter — brewing, latte art, customer service, and the business of running a coffee bar.
Too much good coffee leaves Meru unroasted, unbrewed, and unappreciated at home. Batista Mtaani trains local talent to serve it properly — building skills and small coffee businesses within the community.
